Charlie Wilson's Deja Vu

Years ago, when I heard Terry Gross interview this guy on "Fresh Air", I was left frothing in the mouth. He's quite a character, if you listen to him talk, and I was immediately convinced, this was the villain of the century. I wrote to Terry immediately, on reaching office, not wasting a second. Why wouldn't she ask him about the left overs in Afghanistan, that had not been cleaned up, why wouldn't she ask him about his hatred for India that has left him unapologetic about the spillover of Afghanistan into Kashmir, and the subsequent loss of hundreds of thousands of lives, thereafter. Not to mention its lasting effect and the zillions of "terror cells" that now span the subcontinent.

Well, after watching the movie and following up with actually reading the book, I only mellowed in my opinion, just a bit. The guy had it in his destiny that he be the instrument of demise for the Soviet Union. My crib is not over the Soviet Union, as much as it is over the mushrooming of Islamic scumbag jihadis and the emergence of faceless enemies, as opposed to one known devil that the United States could deal with.

And now this. Russia is not afraid of fighting the Cold war all over, again :-)
Heh heh, why not, indeed. A brand new emergent Oil power, not a single Nuclear weapon lost in the Commie collapse brouhaha, and all the old Oligarchs and hardcore nationalists still alive and kicking.

I insist. America is blessed by the Gods, but cursed by the stupidity of its leaders.
Billions of dollars down the drain in its "fight against Communism", hundreds of thousands of Afghans dead and hundreds of thousands of Afghani children maimed for life. Afghanistan reduced to rubbles, unable to bounce back and up, to this day.
Pakistan, destroyed beyond repair, by its own jihad. India, scarred in Kashmir that probably will never heal. Every nook and corner of India now under the coverage of ISI and Dawood Ibrahim, waiting for the Caliphate. But, ladies and gentlemen, Terminator is back. Ask Putin.
