So here is the deal. America pays, with its tax dollars, exorbitant amounts of money to war lords, militia members and gangsters in Iraq, not to attack its forces. In return, these thugs either hold off their attack, or use the funds to dispose off enemies and settle other personal vendettas, while the American troops wink.
Enemy of an enemy is a friend, right?
Yes, until the friend turns into enemy and America looks out for a new "friend".
As long as the Haliburtons and Blackwaters keep making money, as long as henchmen of Republican thugs keep milking contracts out of the war, Republican patriotism will run thick.

I heard the "First Lady" talk, for the first time today. She's been a graceful presence on the TV, all these years, and that's as much positive as it gets. She still considers her husband a man of "values". Yes, he and his coterie are valued in the billions, why not.

The two bit actor Fred Thomson did his bit of melodrama today, not bad for a guy who didn't win a single primary. He should stick to the idiot box.
