Lalu, of all the buffaloes, should be the one to exercise restraint and humility. Having gone to jail for fodder scam, some how he still thrives in the Indian political scene. Having reduced Bihar to the worst managed state in the history of perhaps not just India, he should have been booted out of power and left rotting in jail for as long as he lives. But the miracle of Indian democracy keeps him alive, and thriving in power.
But, humility and respect are traits that Biharis don't easily acquire. Agreed, Bihar has contributed most number of intellectuals in the history of India, perhaps second only next to Bengal. But you know what, they compare Louisiana and Alabama to "Bihar of America", not for nothing.
Anyway, to cut the story short, the dude visits Bangalore to inaugurate some train service, and goes to Tumkur, part of the deal. He gets shortchanged for food, the essential bane of Indian Railway service. What would you expect, being managed by this not so honorable Minister. And then Kannada Rakshana Vedike members choose this occasion to protest against lack of representation for Kannadigas in the Railways. Lalu Maharaj gets pissed, and when a reporter asks him whether Kannadigas are going to have any reservation for Railway jobs in Karnataka, Lalu quips "dirty people". Whoa. Biharis go looking for job every where. There is no place in India that does not have Bihari migrants. It's not the other way. If one travels by train into Bihar, you would be able to discern the lawlessness begin at its borders. You cannot drive into certain parts of Patna without paying "mamool". You cannot find a movie theater that does not have folks open up liquor bottles. This guy has the temerity to throw the epithet "dirty people" at Kannadigas!
Kannada Rakshana Vedike, what are you doing? It's time to teach this goon a lesson. Are you going to ensure this gentleman withdraws his remarks and apologizes to the people of Karnataka? Are you going to ensure that Kannadigas are not denied jobs in their own land?
