Profitable Repentances

Marion Jones has been one of the most succesful track athletes, of all times. She won a gadzillion medals in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, including three gold ones. She has always been suspected of using performance enhancing drugs, and has had the audacity to call press conferences just to deny these allegations, in the past.
Now I'm morbidly curious as to why Marion Jones has chosen only now, all of seven years after her "performance enhanced" accomplishments at the Olympics, to come clean and apologize to the world, especially her "fans". Now I don't know if they have fan clubs out her for athletes and if they would be hanging around her house waiting for pictured autographs and the kind, but apparently she is *now* very pained at having to cheat her fans and lying to the federal prosecutors at that time.

Come on, the cynic inside me tells me this is yet another mega million book deal waiting to happen. Please, at the end of all your court convictions and suspended sentences, Marion, if you have the integrity not to profit from your sob tales, may be I will believe in the sincerity of your late remorse.
