Hot, Flat and Crowded

"People don't seem to realize, he added, that it is not like we're on the Titanic and we have to avoid the iceberg. We've already hit the iceberg. The water is rushing in down below. But some people just don't want to leave the dance floor; others don't want to give up on the buffet. But if we don't make the hard choices, nature will make them for us. Right now, the acute awareness of the true scale and speed of this problem remains confined largely to the expert scientific community, but soon enough it will be blindingly obvious to everyone."

I'm reading the book Hot,Flat, and crowded and nothing hits you in the face more than the fact that we are still holding on to our buffet line even as the ship is threatened by water.

Why is it that the Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulters of this right wing nut coterie refuse, not only to acknowledge the obvious, but even go far enough to insult anybody that even suggests the possibility of global warming? The scumbags have made their millions selling their idiotic books and their mega million dollar talk shows, but why are they so mean spirited? Of course, the meaner they are, larger their rectangular state dumb moron follower base.
